Twitter Tweaks New Profile Pages and What Does that Mean For Your Business?

Yesterday, Twitter announced they would be going under a new makeover, yes again, and would be implementing a few changes.  According to the social skinny, twitter has over 140 million active users, 65 percent of the top companies have an active twitter profile and 90 percent of marketers use twitter to channel out to new users for businesses.

Here’s a quick rundown of all the changes:

  • Header: Twitter has given the answer to Facebook’s cover photo in implementing a new header above your profile and giving your profile personality.
  • Pin a Tweet: Ability to highlight an important tweet and move it to the top so users can’t miss it; this will help brands and businesses highlight an event, promotions, and etc.
  • Photo stream: Features more of your uploaded photos and puts more of an importance on your photo stream

The new look of twitter will help brands and businesses increase their overall presence.  For twitter these updates are a great way for visually to attract customers and give customers an insight on what businesses are all about. Engagement has been thrown a lot around in the social market and these updates are a great way to start that conversation by letting brands visually have a presence on twitter.
