The adoption of Fortune 500 companies on social media websites is finally happening. It took a little over 5 years in the making but they are finally adopting twitter, facebook and even blogging according to a report from the center of marketing research.
- About a little over 28 percent of these companies have been accepting the perks about blogging
- Over 300 companies with Twitter accounts come from all the 71 industries represented by the fortune 500. Every one of the top 10 companies constantly tweet.
- Over 60 percent of companies are using Facebook and youtube
Even though this data presents increase in numbers many large companies are still are hesitant to use social media because they aren’t certain how to deal with customer service or complaints.
With the presentation of this data it shows that social media is becoming something necessary even for the larger corporations that already have an established audience. With the very slow adoption of social media from these companies it makes you question are they stuck on traditional marketing or think social media won’t benefit them in anyway. With anything comes adaption and any sized company big or small need to adapt to new ways of marketing. Yes, the unknown can be scary, but it can also be beneficial if used in the right way.
